April Holiday and Observances

Easter falls on Sunday, April 12th, this year. Fun Fact: The earliest Easter can fall is March 22 which occurred in 1818 but will not occur again in the 21st century. The latest date is April 25 and will not occur until 2038.
April 13 is Thomas Jefferson's Birthday. Thomas Jefferson was the third President of the United States and served from March 4, 1801 thru March 4, 1809 and is said to have been the principal author of the Declaration of Independence (1776).
We celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd! Earth Day was first observed on April 22, 1970, at a time when concern for the environment was just emerging as a public issue. More than twenty million Americans took to the streets to demonstrate their concern for the environment, making it the largest demonstration in the nation's history.
April is National Humor Month.
Take a look at some of our favorite jokes!
The wedding was a week away and an aunt of the couple was shopping with a friend.
"What are you giving them?" asked the friend.
"About six months," said the aunt.
A three-legged dog walks into a saloon in the Old West. He slides up to the bar and announces: "I'm looking for the man who shot my paw."
Did you hear about the girl who was dating a farmer and a poet? Couldn't decide whether to marry for butter or verse.
Sunday Prayer: " Dear Lord" the minister said, with arms extended toward heaven, "Without you, we are but dust."
The little girl turned to her dad and asked in her shrill 4-year-old voice, "Dad, what is butt dust?"
